Fraudsters are sending fake text messages that look like they're from the bank, then following up with a phone call to "verify" your account. During the call, they may ask for your last 8 card digits, CVV, or One Time Passcode. The bank will NEVER ask for this information. If someone does, hang up immediately.

For the last several weeks, the banking industry has been experiencing a large number of unauthorized charges from ChatGPT. The security of our customers is top priority at First State Bank. In order to protect you from illegitimate charges, we have set a block on all charges coming from ChatGPT (OpenAI*ChatGPT).
The bank’s standard process for verifying charges will be as follows:
If a response is not received from the text or the phone call, the charge will be denied – even if it is a legitimate charge.
We realize this may affect some valid transactions for customers doing business with ChatGPT. If you have a valid charge from ChatGPT that you need to authorize (and you did not respond to the text or phone call), please call our Customer Service Center at (903) 676-1900, or visit your local office, and we can make arrangements to approve the charge for payment.
As a reminder, this is also a good time to ensure the bank has your current contact information on file – phone numbers and emails specifically. Should you need to update that information, please contact our Customer Service Center or your local office.
